Legislation and your business
The Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations, as amended by The Regulatory
Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, require that all employers must conduct a fire
risk assessment and appoint a responsible person by 1st October
2006. This
applies whether or not a fire certificate is required or in force and is a legal
requirement with penalties (which may be severe). This requirement is regardless
of how many people are employed.
In addition to this if you employ five or more persons you need to keep a
written record of the assessment along with its significant findings. Companies
are required to designate a ‘responsible person’, who should take full
responsibility for ensuring that the requirements of the Order are implemented.
Davenheath-OTS are experienced in providing the necessary Fire Risk
Assessment. We are also able to quote for any appropriate signage,
emergency lighting and fire extinguishing equipment and a suitable and effective
fire protection system which must now be an essential consideration.
Our fire prevention services
Davenheath-OTS provide a full range of services to ensure that you meet not
only your legal obligations but that you put yourself in the best possible
position to safeguard your business and employees. Check them out by

These services are all complemented by our
Weekly Testing service
designed to give you complete peace of mind and which we strongly recommend.
Our professional service engineers provide you with the ongoing assurance that
all Fire Precautions measures are meeting their service criteria and any
problems, faults or other issues are identified before they become a
life-threatening risk; indeed, they will often be corrected whilst the engineer
is still on site. These testing services can be specified at the time you
order your system or at any time thereafter and are very reasonably priced.
